About Orbit Escape
Orbit Escape is a one-tap climbing game in deep space. A glowing orb circles a planet. You tap to let go, it flies off in a straight line, and if it reaches the ring of another planet, it locks on and starts circling that one instead. Repeat that all the way up the screen.
The goal is to collect ten crystals and reach the Goal Beacon at the top. There is no timer and no lives. A miss costs you a moment.
How it works
The orb always circles its current planet at that planet’s own speed. Small moons spin fast and gas giants turn slowly. When you tap (or press Space or Up Arrow), the orb leaves along the tangent, which is the direction it is moving at that instant. So you aren’t aiming. You are choosing the moment, and the moment sets the direction.
Each planet has a dotted ring. If the orb crosses that ring, it is caught. Come in very close to the line and it counts as a perfect landing, which builds a combo: each one adds more points than the last, and the landing note climbs a step up a scale. A looser catch scores less and resets the combo.
The sector holds ten crystals, placed close to different planets. Touch one with the orb and it is collected. The Goal Beacon at the top only counts once all ten are in. Reach it early and it tells you how many are left. Reach it with all ten and the sector is complete. A tap then starts a new, taller one. Each sector number always builds the same layout.
Some red planets have a dangerous arc on their ring. The arc bounces the orb back. If the orb drifts off the edge of the map, it is steered back toward the nearest planet.
Tips
- Picture the straight line the orb would take from where it is now.
- Try for perfect landings by cutting across the ring close to its line.
- Pick up crystals as you climb. Going back down for a missed one costs time.
- Slow planets give you more time to wait for the right angle.
Why it feels calm
The pace is set by your tapping, and everything else is slow rotation. The orb leaves a soft trail and rings pulse outward when it lands. Sounds are simple sine tones. A launch is a short rising swoosh. Each perfect landing plays the next note up a major scale, and collecting all ten crystals plays a rising four-note chime.
Questions
Why did my orb bounce off a planet?
That planet is a red one with a danger arc on its ring. The orb bounces off the marked arc. Wait until it has passed, or come in from another side.
What does the Goal Beacon do if I arrive early?
It shows how many crystals you still need, and your orb keeps circling it. Go back down and collect the rest.
Is my progress saved?
Yes, in your browser: best score, total crystals, and highest sector.
